"Everyone must choose one of two pains: The pain of discipline or the pain of regret."

Young Warrior Jiu Jitsu

Jiu Jitsu is primarily a ground-based martial art style that utilizes leverage, angles, pressure and timing, as well as knowledge of the human anatomy, in order to achieve a non-violent submission of one’s opponent. Unlike other martial arts that focus on strikes and/or kicks, jiu jitsu focuses on close-contact “grappling” holds and techniques, and the application of chokes and joint-manipulations.

Victory are reserved for those warriors who are willing to pay it's price.

Young Warrior Combatives Kickboxing

Modern Warrior Combatives Kickboxing offers classes that train the child from beginner to Warrior in the discipline of stand up fighting techniques and self defense. Our curriculum is a hybrid system that pulls from numerous styles into a program that trims the fat of what doesn’t work and trains the skills of what is effective in combat sports and real self defense situations. This excellent style of training provides them both with real self defense skills while allowing you an enjoyable outlet to Get Fit, and stay in Shape!

I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

Flexibility is an important part of physical fitness and offers numerous positive effect on the body. Combat Sports greatly improves flexibility over time as many of the training aspects essentially equate to dynamic active stretching in a sense.

Strength training may boost your lifestyle and enhance your capability to do daily activities. Strength training can also secure your joints from injury. Structure muscle also can contribute to better balance and may minimize your risk of falls. One of the often overlooked areas of strength is the importance of stabilizer muscles. Frequently Asked About Training

Below are some of the more common questions about Jiu Jitsu

Not at all. If you have already trained in a different martial art that’s great but you do not need any previous martial arts experience. Regardless of whether you’re just starting out on your combat sports journey, or a seasoned warrior you'll find your place at MWC.

Every child is different. However we recommend starting them as young as 4 years old. There will be some that is still a bit young, but even at that age they begin to form the fundamental understanding and will adapt quicker as they grow and mature. Our programs are designed to tailor the training respective to the age of the child so as to provide great training benefits, but also ensure the child has fun learning the art.

In Short We Support it. We know there are gyms out there strongly against cross training in other gyms. For some it's because they fear conflicting training. For many others it's an ego and fear thing. Our position is that the more you know the more you grow. We offer excellent training and a great environment, but that doesn't mean you can't further expand your skills and knowledge other places as well. We'd love to be your primary training facility, but we're happy to have you regardless.

The beautiful thing about Jiu Jitsu is the fundamental principle that a weaker and smaller person can defeat a stronger and heavier opponent using leverage and technique. Remember Royce Gracie dominating the early UFC competitions? Anybody with an open mind and a willingness to learn can train Jiu Jitsu.

Bottom line is that our training (Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing) can serve you well regardless of strength, and a great benefit of this training is the child will gain strength!

Not here. At MWC we practice 'NoGi' Jiu Jitsu and our Combatives Kickboxing doesn't utilize a Gi either.

We have a primary focus on self-defense and as such don't want to limit our training style to that of a traditional martial arts uniform.

We do have uniform requirements however per class which are relatively simple and explained during registration. It is essentially athletic wear.

There are different equipment requirements per discipline. We'll help you understand exactly what is needed at registration.

We believe that we are part of a like-minded community and welcome relationships with other gyms both local and afar. We see  it as we have alot in common..there is no reason we can't share and grow from each other.

You Can Truly Improve Your Child's Life

Raising children is a challenge (we know all the owners are parents) and as parent’s we try to do our best. It’s not always easy or clear what that looks like. While we can’t help you with all those questions we can assure you that getting them involved in a good regimented physical training program is ONE OF THOSE GOOD CHOICES. Your child will benefit is so many ways it’s hard to capture on a webpage. To name just a few, they will lean discipline (or expand on what’s in place already), they will gain a much higher level of fitness, gain (earned) self confidence, Gain real world self defense skills, be a part of a close community here at MWC, and so much more. Don’t miss on this chance to shape their future.

Of Jiu Jitsu

The origin of Jiu-Jitsu can be traced thousands of years back. Although there are many theories about its origin, numerous concur that it originated around 4,000 years in the past.

It is also commonly thought that it was the Buddhist monks in India who first popularized the martial art. They practiced Jiu-Jitsu so that they were able to  protect themselves during their travels without causing serious damage on their opponents.

Subsequently, Jiu-Jitsu migrated to feudal Japan. And there it became an art type and a competitive activity. And gradually, it transitioned into effective hand-to-hand battle for warfare.

Nevertheless, some arguments support its much older origins than in India, going back to the earliest types of "grappling," which are commemorated on the walls of ancient Greek and Egyptian ruins.

Regardless of its origins it continuously evolves and is more and more becoming part of the modern day combat sports landscape.
