A question that has been raised in all coffee-lovers minds,

“Is this even healthy for me?”

Some people say that coffee is not just a drink, it is their best friend in hectic days and gloomy nights. It feels like a life-saver for those who have incredibly hectic routines and have to stay awake for most of the night. It does have a controversial impression over the world, yet some people still absolutely love it, while others criticize and mock it.

The following are some facts about coffee that you must know before adding another cup to your routine.

®   The Good face

Some say coffee is a gift from heaven sent by God because of its noticeable list of pros, including its antioxidant properties and beneficially high nutritional value.

Coffee, as in caffeine, helps reduce levels of depression and instantly brightens up your mood. It boosts your physical performance by increasing the adrenaline level in the body. Moreover, caffeine burns fat, improves heart health, strokes, protects the liver and prevents Alzheimer’s disease.

Most importantly, it tastes irresistibly awesome!

P.s: Don’t forget that these benefits can only be obtained with limited intake.

®   The Bad face

Most people drink coffee without knowing and experiencing its adverse effects, but that doesn’t mean coffee’s a saint. Once you increase your intake, coffee can start to reveal its dark side as it contains caffeine, which can increase your heartbeat, cause insomnia, anxiety, and restlessness.

Caffeine also gives rise to sugar cravings resulting in obesity and weight gain. Furthermore, coffee can be toxic for people suffering from hypertension and high blood pressure.

®   The ugly side

Coffee is like an addiction, the more you consume, the more you desire. In rare cases, severe addiction (and by severe, we mean SEVERE ADDICTION) can lead to death, especially in young adults.

Moreover, in pregnancy, caffeine can also affect maternal and fetal health as an overdose of caffeine can increase the risk of miscarriage.

The bottom line

Whenever you intend to drink coffee, drink 3 to a MAXIMUM of 4 cups (400mg) a day so that you don’t end up getting addicted to it. To reap its optimal effects, one must not consume more coffee than mentioned above. Try to limit your intake to around 2 cups a day only.
